Have you considered a dental bridge?A conventional bridge consists of a false tooth that is fused between two porcelain crowns. The purpose of this procedure is to fill in the area left by a missing tooth. The two crowns holding it in place are attached onto your teeth on each side of the false tooth. This is known as a fixed bridge and it can’t be taken out of the mouth like dentures.
The Procedure
The dentist begins bridgework by filing down the teeth to accommodate the crowns. Then the dentist will take impressions of the teeth, which will then be sent to a dental laboratory to create the crowns. Once the crowns are finished, the false tooth (or teeth) will be fused to them. When the bridge is ready, a return visit to the dentist will be necessary to place it on the teeth.
What Are Bridges Made From?
Some bridges are made from an alloy of metals fused to a porcelain outer shell. All-porcelain or all-ceramic bridges are the best choice for a natural cosmetic look.
